Universal’s Epic Universe is an upcoming theme park being constructed as part of the Universal Orlando Resorts.
The new theme park, announced in August 2019, is a collaboration between Universal Studios and Comcast and was originally scheduled for a grand opening sometime in 2023.
Once the COVID-19 pandemic began, construction came to a halt. There was no news on when construction would begin again even after Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure reopened, until today.
According to the Orlando Sentinel, Comcast CEO Brian Roberts said “We had paused construction during COVID until we felt confident enough that we could see a resumption of a great business…[Now] we feel that way.”
This exciting news of construction resuming comes with an opening date much farther off than originally anticipated. Although an official opening date hasn’t been set, there are rumors of a possible opening window of early 2025.
